The Sky Has No Traffic Jams

One of the oft repeated advice I give my children has been sitting in my spirit ever since and I’ve finally decided to share. One time, one of them had come crying over something a sibling did—nothing new. But this time, it wasn’t over toys, it was about “who got praised more.”
I sat them down and said, “Look up. How many stars can you see?”
They said, “So many!”
“And did one have to disappear for the other to shine?”
They shook their heads.
“So why do you think you need someone else to fall for you to rise?”
That’s how this post was born.
_
There’s an adage that needs to be cast into a bin, lit on fire, and slapped repeatedly with an Oraimo cord:
“If one man own no spoil, another man own no go better.”
What in the actual scarcity is this nonsense?
Like—who approved this? Who sat down, stitched these words together and said, “Yes, this is wisdom”? This is not wisdom. It’s witchcraft disguised as wisdom.
Scarcity mindset has become so normalised, we now spiritualise sabotage. We’re calling it strategy.
Some of you are not in competition; you are in warfare. You’re not chasing excellence—you’re chasing people down so you can steal their crown.
You destroy someone’s work behind the scenes, whisper into the right ears, manipulate perception, and walk away smiling while the person you betrayed is crying to Allaah, invoking His justice.
And yet, you’re the one collecting awards and applause? So the world calls you amazing. So what? Does the One who sees the secrets of hearts not know how you played that game?
Let’s get one thing straight:
The sky is big.
Nobody’s shine is taking your shine.
There are no traffic jams in the skyways.
Even meteors that fall still burn bright before they disappear. So why are you living like another person’s success is your death sentence?
If you must leave a team, collaboration or friendship, why should it come with:
The theft of intellectual property?
Misuse of someone’s trust?
Copying someone’s work without honour?
Every idea you’ve stolen, every PDF you’ve passed off as your own, every plan you replicated without permission—it will speak on the Day when all secrets are laid bare.
And the truth is, we know we’re going to die. We say “live like you won’t see the next minute,” but many of us act like we have the whole of eternity to fix what we’ve ruined.
Someone once told me, “I don’t follow Baba God talk am.”
I blinked for some time because I was like, “What does that even mean?!!!”
You don’t have to “follow” the plan for it to find you. Death is not an influencer waiting for your follow-back. It shows up, uninvited, and unbothered by your schedule.
Let’s do better, abeg.
There is abundance for us all.
Let’s drop these toxic adages and embrace this truth:
“Ka rin ka po, yiye niin ye.”
(Walking together brings nourishment.)
And if you’ve been battling with the fear that your dreams are too small, or that someone’s success is a threat to yours—then August 30th is your breakthrough moment.
Smash Your Goals Workshop is not your average goal-setting event.
It’s a mindset surgery table.
You will unlearn scarcity.
You will build from wholeness.
You will reignite your goals with authenticity, sincerity, and legacy thinking.
And you’ll be doing this with other faith-led visionaries who understand that abundance is not a threat—it’s a truth.
Practical steps to start shifting your mindset today:
1. Catch the thought: The moment you feel jealousy or competitiveness, pause and name it. Don’t spiritualise it—dissect it.
2. Affirm abundance: Say, “There is space for me too. My lane is valid. My time is coming.”
3. Celebrate others loudly: Applaud publicly, not just privately.
4. Create, don’t copy: Be inspired, not insecure.
5. Seek sincere community: Join spaces that reflect the mindset you want to grow into (like Smash Your Goals).
So tell me, with love and reflection:
Are you truly pursuing your goals… or just trying to outshine someone else?
Are you operating from abundance… or is scarcity dressed in designer clothes whispering in your ear?
And most importantly…
Would Allaah be proud of how you’re showing up behind the scenes?
It’s time for mindset maturity.
Let’s fly—without fighting for space.
✨ Tag someone who needs to hear this. Share it with love. And if you’re ready to shift for real, see you August 30th.
